Novels #83: Let's Catch up!

Hey There!
Hope you’re doing well! It’s been a while since we’ve talked and I’ve got LOTS of books to talk about with you! So the last time we spoke, I had just finished the Bunnicul-a-thon and my reading goal for the year. My goal was 55 last year I set it at 50 and didn’t quite make it. So I really wanted to push myself the following year and Im so excited to say that I did!
Not only was I able to complete my goal but I surpassed it, currently as of writing this I am at 64 books for the year, and since there are 3 weeks left in the year and I’m pretty interested in seeing how far I’m able to get before 2023. I honestly can’t believe there are only 3 weeks left in the year, ‘22 zoomed by!
With it being December, I have been in the mood for some Christmas-themed murder mysteries, and the cozy mystery community has NOT let me down! The current tentative TBR is as follows: The Christmas Tree Farm Mystery Series by Jacqueline Frost: Twelve Slays of Christmas, Twas The Knife before Christmas, and Slashing Through the Snow, One Corpse Open Slay by Dakota Cassidy. I have three Graphic Novels; Garlic and The Witch by Bree Paulson, Unfamiliar by Haley Newsome, and Mapmakers Vol 1 by Amanda Castillo and Cameron Chittock.

Let’s catch up on the books that I’ve completed. Seems I missed October and November Wrap-ups so here’s what I read. In October, I was running the Bunnicula Thon which contains 7 novels, I completed those and 4 other novels. The two graphic Novels I read were The Little Werewolf by Stephanie Peters; a retelling of Little Red Riding hood and Pilu of the Woods by Mai K. Nguyen a book about trusting others, and dealing with the grief of losing a loved one. I really liked Pilu it gave me a good cry and a tug on my heartstrings.

I read two halloweenesque erotic novels which were super enjoyable! Riding the Headless Horseman by Molly Likovich was also my introduction to these Monster romances that are so popular on TikTok. It’s about a witch in Sleepy Hollow, who gets picked up by the Horseman and uh…decides to make her stay a bit more enjoyable.
Jack by Layla Fae has a similar story, a witch messing around with things she shouldn’t wound up summoning a Jackolantern-headed demon, who has washboard abs and glowy fire eyes just for her.
In November, I read another novel by Molly Likovich, Bite Back: Library of Teeth Book one. This is also an erotica novel about a classic literature student on the radar of a poly trio of Vampires, who are on the run from a secret society of Vampire Hunters that work out of the college they all attend.

I read one graphic novel; Monster Mayhem by Christopher Eliopoulos which was about a young robotics genius named Zoe who enjoyed Kaiju movies and disliked other people. She finds a ring that brings Kaijus to life but instead of a hangout, she has to stop them from eating the city.
I read two mysteries, Death by Design which is #30 in The Case Files series, which I have been obsessed with since finding it back in 2018. This one was a doozy! It was probably the wildest Drew mystery I’ve ever read! I followed that up with Mystery at the Masked Ball which is #4 in the Clue Series published in the 90’s! I remembered having one of these as a child but I do not remember anything about it. This series is more short mysteries for you to solve than a continuous story but I still enjoyed my time.
What did you read in the last few months? Did you finish your reading goal for the year?
Until Next Time.
