January Wrap up!

We survived January, and I got a decent amount of reading done. I already know 2025 is going to be a doozy, so I started with a lot of children's books and graphic novels as palette cleansers.

While I've always thought that adults should read children's lit in order to keep some form of empathy and whimsy, with the changing of the guard in the government this year, I knew I needed it more than ever. With the 20 books I put away this month, I definitely thought I would read only graphic novels, a buddy read got me out of that.
Thanks to Sarah, I read Us In Ruin by Rachel Moore, which I originally thought would be a bit cheesy but I loved it more than I could say! It was my first 5 star of the year AND it pushed me not only to read more of her work but to find other anthropologist-esque romance~

January also brought me my first completed arc of 2025, I Am Made Of Death which I gave 🥕🥕🥕🥕.25 by Kelly Andrew. It was my first book from her, and I fell in love. The entire bubblegum horror vibes she used to promote it, the way Thomas fell hard and fast, the way Vivienne was a headstrong heroine, reminded me a bit of myself, the horror, fantasy aspect was great! It comes out in March on the 4th, so make sure you go pick it up!
What did you read in January? Leave the good ones below! I love getting recommendations from ya'll!
Until Next Time,
Gabs
