December Hopefuls

December Hopefuls

Hello There,

Welcome to a new month and with it a new list of novels to hopefully get too.

First up is The Bluestocking Bunnie’s Club pick: Babel by R. F. Kuang. I chose this before I decided to see how many of the 24 list I could complete this month and honestly it’s kind of biting me in the ass, because Babel is LONG. Almost 600 pages of high literary fantasy. Something I normally don’t read, but the gist of the novel just really grabbed me and I’ve wanted to read it for such a long time, so here I am! Essentially about Translation as magic.

With Christmas only a few weeks away I thought it would be fun to toss a few Christmas mysteries into the list. I’m planning a 24 hr Christmas thriller vlog to go up on Friday The 13th, because how perfect would that be right?

Lets Split Up , which is touted as Scooby Doo meets serial Killers why would I need anything else? I literally have seen every episode of Scooby Doo released, Every Movie, and a tattoo. Was this novel freaking made for me?

You better Look Out, Which is touted as a Christmas thriller, unfortunately it is published by St. Martins which is still on Boycott, so this will be the last time its ever mentioned.

With this being the last month of the year, I’m planning on focusing on my 24 for ‘24 challenge I made in December last year. I think I honestly just kind of forgot about it, so time to see what I can get into before 2025.

I’ve managed to put away 6 of the 24 books so far, so here are the remaining 18 titles:

1st To Die by James Patterson, I’m currently reading this about 50% in.

A Master of Djinn by P. Djeli Clark, I’m currently reading this about 45% in.

Cocaine Blues by Kerry Greenwood, I’m only a couple of pages in.

Arsene Lupin, Gentleman Thief by Maurice Le Blanc, I’m 21 pages in.

I Dreamed I Married Perry Mason by Susan Kandel

Vicious by V. E. Schwab

Cut To the Quick by Kate Ross

Unsub by Meg Gardiner, I was about 20% into this, when it went back to the Library.

Sammy Keyes and The Hotel Thief by Wendelin Van Drannen, I’m about 4 pages in.

The Diviners by Libba Bray, this is also scary long at 578 pages.

The Secret Adversary, my 2nd attempt at an Agatha Christie.

Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

Siren Queen by Nigh Vo, I’m 14% in.

Class Trip by Bebe Faas Rice

The Strings of Murder by Oscar De Muriel.

Murder at The Brightwell by Ashley Weaver.

The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro, I’m 17% in.

I’ve got a lot of books ahead of me so let me slide out of here and get back to reading!
