Bubblegum X Peril

As Bubblegumxperil I share content about video games. I’ve been playing video games since my dad handed me a Sega Saturn controller back in 1996
Ever since I was a little girl I've always liked video games. They were my favorite activity to do with friends and family. I've been playing games since 1996 with my first Sega Saturn Controller. I absolutely adored playing old arcade fighters with my father and male cousins. It became embedded in my personality.
We were honed in on Japanese games in particular. I remember having a Japanese booter for our Sega Genesis so my dad could play Japanese games on our console! I enjoyed games like Knights, Clockwork King, and King of Fighters from a super young age.
From the Sega Genesis, came the Dreamcast, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2. I remember playing so frequently that as an adult in her 30's I remember it like it was yesterday. I think The Dreamcast wins the system of my childhood, though, so many hours put into so many games. Marvel V. Capcom 2, House Of The Dead 2, Space Channel 5, and so many more classics still live rent-free in my head.
For the Playstation we played anything we could get our hands on, from Darkstalkers to Street Fighter to Crash Bandicoot, which gave birth to my addiction of wanting to be like all of the adorable female companions with tiny book laptops and creating things on the go. Thanks, Coco and Penny.

Currently, I've gone through a bit of a nostalgia period, and have gone about looking for older consoles to start collecting and playing. I try and stream often but it never seems to work out that way. I share gaming footage from my switch, PC and PS5 on Twitch and Youtube.

Playing new games, collecting bubblegum aestehtic gaming peripherals, and sharing boardgames that I play with my fiance and his family on Instagram. In 2025, my father and I will be starting a game commentary podcast, called To The Archives, where we talk about gaming anniversaries and share gaming stories from our lives.
I love the gaming ease of playing my Switch. I love being able to keep it in my bag and have it whenever I want to play. My first foray into gaming content was my mini-gaming blog on Gameformer, back in the day. That was the birth of The Handheld Mistress, since I was currently playing my 3DSXL like it was my lifeline. Professor Layton was the first game that I ever blogged about and it was a match made in heaven.
