Series #88: Vampire Diaries Thoughts on Season 1 + 2
Hey There!
Boy Wonder and I have been making our way through our Vampire Diaries Rewatch, and have just started season 3 episode 1. I thought it was the perfect time to talk about some of my favorite things about the series so far and the seasons we’ve completed.

One of the biggest things I enjoyed was Jenna’s Relationship with Ric, while it lasted. Jenna needed to have a man that was worthwhile and I’m so glad that she found one in Ric, poor Jenna not being able to survive to enjoy her newfound vampire powers, I like to think she would have LOVED to be a vampire once she got used to it.
Damon’s GROWTH, he’s still going into things without fully thinking them through, but I think something can be said for his ability to think about it before just going off and murdering people in spades. Now he thinks about his plans and tries to get the best vantage point, even if they don’t work out for the best. Plus the relationship he has with Andie is pretty healthy even though she was compelled for a portion of it. She really was good for him.

I feel like everyone has had growth the last two seasons except Elena. She still has that victim mentality, instead of actually thinking about what she could do to rid the demons that are plaguing her she’s just like, who can I make a deal with so no one else dies. Instead of how can I avoid dying myself. While her concern for others is admirable, she is straying dangerously close to martyr territory, which is something that annoys me greatly in Supernatural shows. It’s the biggest reason why I didn’t finish Buffy or Angel.

Klaus is a great villain, but I don’t like him. I didn’t like him as a character the first time I watched and that feeling hasn’t gone away any. They keep trying to paint him in this redeemable light, and he’s not Damon. It isn’t working. Jeremy and Bonnie are still one of my favorite couples from the show, but this time around I’m so much more invested in Caroline and Tyler’s relationship, they’re just SO CUTE! Also with them both being supernatural, it creates an even playing field, that hasn’t been present before.

Also the introductions of the werewolves! I love that even though it’s called Vampire Diaries, it isn’t just pertaining to vampires, I love that they continue to include other supernatural creatures. Werewolves are some of my favorites so I can’t wait to see what’s next. So far my favorite vampires are Caroline and Damon. I’m so excited to see what’s next for the crew.

Have you seen Vampire Diaries before? What are your favorite moments from seasons 1 and 2?
