Top 10 Favorite Male Disney Characters.
Hey Gang!
How’s life been for you? I know it’s been a while, but never worry, I have finally figured out a schedule that works for me, and I’ve got A LOT of content coming your way! Today, I wanna be a little fancy-free and talk about my favorite male Disney characters. I won’t be counting Marvel in this, only Disney, and only animated characters, because thats how I roll.
You may be wondering what brought up this topic, and it’s kind of a funny story. I was watching Dylan is in trouble review Atlantis, which is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time, and Boy Wonder asked me who was my favorite guy, and I was like Obviously Milo. He was like out of all of the male characters, Milo is your favorite?! Not Aladdin, not Hercules? I was like Milo is a thousand times better than Hercules and here we are.
So, here are my top 10 and why.
Milo Thatch: DUH! It’s my favorite Disney Movie, and Milo is such a rich character. He starts off just wanting to get the money for his grandfather’s dream expedition and wants people to stop laughing at him and his family’s legacy, but as the story goes on, you see he has a real love for history and the rich tapestry of the Atlantian culture, and although he can definitely be seen as a white savior, I think the story is handled in a way that shows he isn’t. The way he turns his back on the money and tries to save the culture and its people, from the people that he let in, really resonates with me.

Baymax: Who doesn’t love Baymax?! Big Hero 6 is my 2nd favorite Disney movie, and it literally never fails to make me cry. The exploration of grief and found family in this story is just so well done! Baymax is just an adorable fluff of a robot and I really wish he was real. One simply for the helpfulness he would provide to the health industry, but also just because there are so many children who lose family and have to deal with grief all by themselves. They don’t have the resources to do it to where they can heal healthily and Baymax would be a huge help with that.

Genie: The OG Mascot, how could I leave him off the list? Robin Williams’ Genie is such a pivotal part of my personality it isn’t even funny. I quote him constantly, and Jasmine was my first favorite princess, I remember having a really blurry polaroid of a 5-year-old me in a jasmine costume, that my mother made for me. Let’s also be pretty honest would Aladdin be where he is right now without Genie’s help and guidance? I think not.

Mushu: I got a thing for mascots okay?! Eddie Murphy, Childhood Nostalgia and Dishonor on you dishonor on your cow if you disagree. Just Kidding, I love the personality Eddie gave Mushu, and I’ve always been a big fan of Dragons, I know the family didn’t think he would amount to anything, but I love that he was instrumental in the story and helped protect the heroine. Plus the friendship he has with cricket is pretty great.

Quasimodo: When I was younger, The Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of my favorite movies., I knew all the songs I knew all of the words, and I always thought that Esmeralda and Quasi should have been together. I loved the fact that despite everything that was stacked against Quasi he didn’t allow that to stop him from fighting injustices.

Kuzco: I think my favorite thing about Kuzco is even though he starts off as a character that obviously only cares about himself through perseverance from other characters he has a change of heart, and with my whimsical heart, if a fictional character can stop being selfish, hopefully, politicians can follow suit! I also really like that he was able to pull his ego back enough to listen to another person and actually take their thoughts to heart, plus he was a really funny character.

Tigger: As a child I was always compared to Tigger, lots of energy, not knowing when to chill out, always loving to be around my friends, and wanting to be helpful whenever possible. I actually received a lifesize bouncing Tigger, and it actually left the ground which I thought was amazing. Tigger is the sunshine in Winnie The Pooh I think, always able to keep up the energy no matter what kind of bind they’ve gotten themselves in.

Li Shang: He’s just a fun time and so pretty to look at. Strong, strategic, and ready for action, how could you not love him? I think he’s a really good example of a character who has expectations that he has to live up to but also has the autonomy to decide if he wants to follow the path laid out for him. Plus he literally has the BEST song in the entire film!

Aladdin: Since a hero is only as good as their villain, of course, the hero had to be on the list as well. I love Al because he is probably the most honest portrayal of what happens when someone has practically nothing and suddenly has everything they could ever want within their grasp. I also think that Aladdin does a really good job of not letting the bells and whistles draw him to the dark side.

Jafar: I have a villain kink, and I’m not ashamed. Also, I think that he is one of the better villains that Disney has produced. A hero is only as good as their villain.
