If you gave me a Batman Film…
Hey Gang!
So I’m going to take a little detour today! So Boy Wonder and I were talking about people of color in DC, and somehow we got onto the topic of what we would want in a Batman trilogy. He asked and here’s what I delivered. I love DC and I love Batman but I’m honestly tired of them acting like they can only sell Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman to the masses. It’s just not true. So I’m looking to change that.
So I’m pitching to you a Batman Trilogy. Here we go:
Film 1: Origins.
- This is not about Batman’s origins. He is already a detective vigilante and has already created a reputation for himself in the city of Gotham. This movie’s villain is The Mad Hatter. He’s kidnapping Children at an alarming rate, and Batman is out to stop him. The first half is the research, and once he’s saved the children, he discovers and adopts Dick Grayson (He’s best Robin fight me!) He teaches him the ropes, and Dick Grayson, is older and goes off on his own to be Nightwing and put together teen titans.
Film 2: Transfiguration.
- This film is Nightwing putting together and training the teen titans. Their villain, is Gentleman Ghost, because I LOVE HIM! The first Half is the gang having difficulty fighting him because he’s not human, so Raven, is like we need help, enter Zatanna and Constantine. Together they help defeat gentleman ghost and this allows for them to slide in Justice League Dark. And the other half of the film is Batman going on a mystery mission with Deadman and it involves the Lazarus pit.
Film 3: Revelations
-This film follows the newly put together Justice League Dark Teaming up with the Teen Titans, They are fighting two villains, for the blg climax. With Constantine on the team they will go against Faust, who was just a henchman four Morgan le Fay who is trying to create a gateway for a powerful demon, but gets duped by Raven’s father, Trigon, who was pulling all of the strings from the beginning, and its one gaint face off of the Teen Titans, Justice League Dark and some key players, such as Mr. Terrific, Deadman, Plastic Man and Dr. Fate, against Trigon, Morgan Le Fay and one of the new gods, for good measure, that way if they wanted they could do an actual team up with Batman and Superman, Big Barda and Mr. Miracle, and head to Apokolips and face Darkseid.
Three films under 4 hours, with a slew of DC characters I’ve never seen in a live action film and a story line that could actually do them justice, plus think of all the toys you could sell with figurines of every character I’ve mentioned. Plus depending on the character selection and Actress choices, you could get away with quite a few costumes, dresses and other clothing options and the spinoffs. The possibilities are endless.
