Series #84: Silk Stalkings Season 1

I’m back with some thoughts about another television program before my time! I absolutely love mysteries and I will devour them any way I can, I was randomly looking for something to watch when I came across Pluto TV on my Roku. Wanna let you know, it’s literally the best, not only do they have all kinds of live channels showing all kinds of things but they have full television shows and movies for on Demand, and the selection is pretty great, especially if you’re looking for old stuff they don’t show anymore!
Enter, Silk Stalkings! I remember my mother talking about this show when I was younger, but because of the content warning, I wasn’t able to watch it! As an adult, I thought I should rectify that when I saw it on Demand! If you are unaware, Silk Stalkings is a television program about two Sargents, named Lorenzo and Lance who are in homicide but focus on domestic cases, they call silk stalkings, usually murders of a jilted lover or the ilk.
Originally running from 1991 to 1995 on CBS/USA, you follow the Palm Peach homicide Detectives, the ME, and District Attorney as they chase mobsters, have steamy relations, and try not to die of Heatstroke. Rita Lee Lance has a condition that is mentioned briefly in the first season, explaining Lorenzo’s overprotectiveness of her, but it just kind of disappears after a while.
I’m currently working through Season 2, which has had some unique situations such as the chief going undercover for a gun smuggling ring, Lance and Lorenzo going undercover for a gambling racket, and my personal favorite so far, meeting Lorenzo’s famous actress mother.
